Back at Home!

Dear first grade friends,

Today is Saturday, June 29, 2013.  I cannot believe that June is almost over!  In two months you will be getting ready to begin school.  Mr. Prowse and I just got home from our vacation.  After Omaha, we went to Arizona to visit my mom.  It is very hot in Arizona!  We went to a place called Tombstone, which is a very famous old western town.  We took a ride on this stagecoach.  That is how people traveled before cars were invented.  It was a bumpy ride!

The horses were so beautiful!  The man sprayed them with water to keep them cool.  We ate lunch in an old time saloon and saw a reenactment of the gunfight at the OK corral.  Another day we went to Mexico and bought a few little things.  We played lots of games and had a lot of fun, but it is always nice to be home!  It seems like we brought the hot air back with us!  Remember to keep reading!  The library is a great place to have lots of fun in the summer.  Remember when we rode on the bus to visit the library?  Drink lots of water and try not to get too hot in this heat!

Love, Mrs. Prowse

The Road to Omaha

Dear boys and girls, today is Saturday June 22, 2013.  I am sorry I did not write yesterday, but I was having problems with my computer.  Mr. Prowse and I went to visit my dad in Omaha, and while we were there we saw the Oregon State beavers play a baseball game. It was really fun!  We saw them win a game with the score of 11 to 4.  Omaha was very, very hot and humid!  We took Lucy with us and she was so crazy she barked at everybody she saw!  Cruzer stayed home and went to doggy day care.  Are you going to travel anywhere this summer?  Mr. Prowse says hi and we hope you are having a super sparkly summer!  Love, Mrs. Prowse

Dear First Graders,

Today is Saturday, June 15, 2013.  I hope you have been having a good time on your first few days of summer vacation!  I was at school all week putting stuff away and doing paperwork.  The classroom looks so bare.  Do you remember that vocabulary word, "bare"?  It's not like the animal bear.  I am going to give Lucy a bath today.  Mr. Prowse will wash Cruzer.  I have the easier job!  Do you help take care of animals at your house?  You all did a great job singing last Tuesday night.  I hope you are trying to read all that you can.  You don't want to forget all that you learned in Kindergarten!  I met with the first grade teachers Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Strowbridge, and Mrs. Johnson yesterday and I got to see some of the math games you will play next year.  You will love first grade!  But I miss you a lot already!!  Have a good week my friends!  Love, Mrs. Prowse
