Dear boys and girls,
Today is Sunday, June 15, 2012. I hope you are enjoying your summer. I sure am! I have been taking a nap almost every day. Do you ever take a nap? Lucy and Cruzer like to cuddle on the couch with me while I sleep. One day I woke up and my cat was cuddling with us also!
I have been reading a lot of books. Have you read any good books this summer? I went to a garage sale where the man said they had 700 books for sale! I bought three books there. Here are two tricky questions for you: How many books did the man have left after I bought 3? and How many Hundreds are in 700? Wow that is some really hard math!! You will do a lot more math in first grade than we did in Kindergarten. Be sure to practice counting and writing your numbers up to 20. Remember tricky teens start with a ___! (One) Also remember that is because all the tricky teens have 1 ten and a certain number of ones.
I am going to the beach for four days with some of my teacher friends. We do this every year and always have a lot of fun! Cruzer and Lucy will have to cuddle with Mr. Prowse while I am gone! I miss you!

Are you staying cool?
Dear girls and boys,
Today is Monday, July 9, 2012. Boy, the weather has been very warm! Have you been able to go swimming? That is something fun to do when it is hot. Did you get to see fireworks on the 4th of July? I love fireworks because they are so beautiful!
On Saturday I went to some garage sales and I was so excited to get some new toys for the classroom. They filled up the whole back seat of my car! Yesterday I took them to school. You would not believe how the classroom looks with the furniture all piled up and all the toys put away. I will have a lot of work to do before school starts!
Are you trying to do a little bit of school work everyday? Remember if you bring the homework packet back to me when school starts I will have a special treat for you. Also remember that the library is a great place to go for lots of fun! On the right hand side of this page are links to some good learning websites, if you like to do work on computers. They have computers to use at the library also!

The End of June
Dear boys and girls,
Today is Saturday, June 30, 2012. It is the last day of June! Do you know what month begins tomorrow? It will be the first day of July. This is a special day to Mr. Prowse and I because it is our anniversary. We have been married for 17 years! Wow!
Mr. Prowse and I have been doing work around the house this week. I helped him pressure wash the entire house! He had to go really high on the ladder. He said it was pretty scary!
We took Cruzer and Lucy to the dog park several days this week. Lucy is a little afraid of the other dogs because they are so much bigger than her. The other dogs like to chase her and she runs to the safe spot between my feet.

Today is Sunday, June 24, 2012. I have been so busy I forgot to write to you on Friday! I am so sorry about that. Even though it is summer vacation, I have not yet had a day off. I hope you have had a wonderful first week of vacation! I would love it if you would write to me about what you are doing! These past few days have been so rainy it does not feel like summer any more. I hope the days turn sunny again, but I do not like it to be too hot. Do you like it when the weather is hot?
